Stargazing at the physics faculty

In Events, Main Page, Physics Faculty

It’s an old and obviously completely wrong prejudice against mathematicians and computer scientists that they don’t like to leave their house. That they should do just that every now and then is proven by our next event:

On Tuesday the 16th of July from 6:30 p.m. until the last train around 2 a.m., the very first Astro Night is happening at the physics department! Listen to one of two interesting talks about everything star-related by Prof. Shawn Bishop and Prof. Bruno Leibundgut or enjoy a guided tour through the ESO , also by Prof. Leibundgut.

To enjoy the partial lunar eclipse happening that night, we will prepare a couple of telescopes for you to use. If you’re currently waiting for the next talk or for an open spot at the telescopes, use that time and enjoy it together with some friends and with one of our boardgames or help yourself with some cake, sandwiches or a cold beer.

We are looking forward to seeing you and we wish us all a clear sky!
